Gullane is a picturesque village on the East coast of Scotland between Aberlady and North Berwick, about 20 miles from Edinburgh.

With four high quality eighteen-hole golf courses, including Muirfield, which regularly hosts The Open Championship (last time in 2013), Gullane is a popular golfing destination. Gullane Golf Club also hosts international championship golf events and is an Open Championship Qualifying course.

For the non-golfers, the village's award-winning beach 'Gullane Bents' makes a beautiful leisurely walk on a sunny day and is also popular with wind and kite surfers.

Some ideas for walks around Gullane are shown in Visit East Lothian's leaftlet "Walks Around Aberlady, Gullane & Dirleton" (pdf).

Parking & Transport

Parking in Gullane is free. Normal regulations regarding pedestrian-crossings, single- and double-yellow lines apply. Even being a small village, be aware that East Lothian police and parking wardens do patrol the area regularly.
